A number of high-profile guest speakers have been confirmed for what will be a hugely informative public meeting aimed at highlighting a practical path to a sustainable future for businesses and ways they can reduce commercial energy costs and waste.
The event, organised by Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce and strongly supported by Fáilte Ireland and Kerry County Council, will take place in the Killarney Plaza Hotel on Thursday, February 27th at 6.00pm.
Keynote speakers at the event will include Mike Stack who is the chief executive of progressive Killarney company Tricel and Chair of the Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce Sustainability Group, Ann Courtney, Head of Sustainability with Golf Ireland and Martin Bealin, Global Village Consultants, who is a vastly experienced mentor on sustainability issues in hospitality and tourism.

Other guest speakers scheduled to participate include Cormac McCarthy, Acting Programme Manager in Business Supports with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, Evelyn Moynihan, CEO, Kilkenny Group and Aidan McDonnell, CEO, Acutrace.
The event will showcase the progress made and the advantages available for companies willing to boost their green credentials.
As Killarney continues to develop as a vibrant tourist destination, businesses can take important steps towards reducing their environmental impact and, the meeting will hear, one of the most effective ways to do this is by consulting with a monitoring company to advise on reducing energy consumption and waste.
It can help local businesses to pinpoint areas where energy is being wasted and, in the process, uncover opportunities for cost-saving measures that can directly benefit the bottom line.
From identifying inefficiencies in heating systems to optimising lighting and machinery use, an audit provides a tailored, actionable plan that can lead to significant reductions in energy bills and reducing a company’s carbon footprint.
The meeting is open to everybody and businesses have been encouraged to attend to learn how they can take advantage of the exciting options available.
