STUNNING images of Killarney will be beamed into over two million sitting rooms this Sunday night courtesy of a special edition of the smash hit TV series Top Gear.

The hugely popular BBC motoring programme, followed by over 21 million fans on Facebook, filmed on location in Kerry in April and the show will be aired on BBC2 at 8.00pm on Sunday.

Featuring star presenters Matt LeBlanc and Chris Evans, it is understood that the Kerry footage will feature the iconic Moll’s Gap and Ladies View.

It will also take in Kenmare and West Kerry, featuring a GAA match in Dingle, and tourism industry chiefs are excited by the prospect of the programme giving the area a major promotional boost.

Matt LeBlanc and Chris Evans not only got to test their driving skills on the roads of Kerry as they also tried their hand at traditional Irish dancing when they joined in a right hooley with the locals.

They strutted their stuff with the talented Celtic Steps dance troupe from Killarney after dance school chief David Rae and his dancers had given them a performance to remember on their visit to Dingle.

The dancing exhibition is also expected be a key part of the Top Gear series to be screened on Sunday night with a repeat on RTÉ at a later date.
