THE Killarney Cardiac Response Unit is to hold an important information and practical demonstration event to mark European Restart a Heart Day on October 16.
Volunteers will focus on CPR and defibrillator demonstrations and there will also be a display featuring contributions to the schools’ Chain of Survival art competition.
The team will also avail of the opportunity to officially launch the new Heart of Ireland phonebox AED promotional video.
The European Restart a Heart Day was founded with the support of the European Parliament and it takes place on October 16 every year. This year the focus will be on survivors with the hashtag #CPRSavedMyLife.
“With this campaign we want to create awareness that everyone can learn CPR and facilitate courses in schools and public locations,” said scheme coordinator Kevin O’Leary.
The Killarney Restart a Heart Day will take place in the ANAM Centre on East Avenue Road, commencing at 2.00pm, with Covid regulations adhered to and an outdoor space available.
