KILLARNEY tourism ambassadors have pitched the town and their business to a group of 20 influential UK inbound tour operators who are currently in Ireland to attend a Fáilte Ireland autumn sales workshop.

More than 700 one-to-one sales meetings took place at today’s workshop in the Portmarnock Hotel in Dublin which was attended by up to 70 tourism businesses from across the country.

This is the second in a series of six sales workshops which focus on attracting more overseas visitors from key markets which has been identified as an area of potential growth for Ireland.

The UK inbound operators manage tours from long-haul markets into Britain and Ireland.

“This market is an important market for Ireland and we are delighted to be rolling out the red carpet for these influential operators,” said Fáilte Ireland official Ciara Sugrue.

“They have the capacity to deliver significant amounts of visitors to Ireland and their presence here is a testimony to Ireland’s appeal as a destination.”
