CHAMPION jockey Racheael Blackmore suffered a serious leg injury in a dreadful fall at Killarney Racecourse this afternoon.
The undisputed queen of the turf was removed to University Hospital Kerry with what is reported to be an upper leg injury.
She was riding 11-10 favourite Mary Poppins in a handicap hurdle over two miles and four furlongs when she was involved in a heavy fall with over a full circuit to go.

Worried punters in the limited attendance could only watch on in silence as medics treated the first female jockey to win the Grand National on the track to stabilise her before she was transferred to hospital.
A Twitter post by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board said: “Rachael Blackmore is being taken to Tralee hospital for further assessment on an upper leg injury following a fall in race four at Killarney. She is fully conscious”.
Blackmore, who celebrated her 32nd birthday last Sunday, had already won two races on today’s card.
She had been carting over her terrific form from last season which saw her conclude the Cheltenham Festival as leading jockey with six wins.
