Killarney woke up this Tuesday morning to find cars, vans and patio and garden furniture covered by a thick coating of Saharan dust.
The hot weather of recent days brought a plume of rust coloured dust that fell from late on Monday night.

It is thought to have been blown from the Sahara in Africa, spanning across a third of the continent with the rare weather phenomenon caused by the warm air blowing up from the Sahara
Those that have been rushing to the nearest car wash have been advised that they may have to do so again in a few days as the dust will remain for the rest of the week, falling with showers of rain.
The dust us expected to continue to move over Ireland over coming days with showers bringing it down.
Highest temperatures of 22 to 26 degrees are forecast for Tuesday and the remainder of the week is expected to be very humid.
