Killarney Celtic are spot-on

WITH action in midweek and at the weekend, the semi-final line-up of the John Murphy Under 12 Cup has been completed.

Killarney Celtic and Inter Kenmare were involved in a last sixteen cracker with an amazing 20 penalties taken before Celtic progressed 7-6.

The game finished 2-2 after extra time with Colm Crowley getting both for Inter and Chris O’Leary and Emmet O’Shea netting for Celtic.

Ryan O’Grady, Jack McCarthy, Dylan Doona, Tom Doyle, Jason Kerins, Neil O’Shea and Ruairi Doyle were all successful from the penalty spot for Celtic.

Killarney Celtic A took full confidence from that win to get past Killorglin in the quarter-final on Saturday. Niall McGillycuddy and Padraic Looney both scored two with Jack McCarthy, Ryan O’Grady, Ruairi Doyle and Ian O’Connor all getadding to the tally. Killorglin battled well and had a hat=trick from Gar Hassett.

Killarney Celtic B couldn’t join their club mates as they went out after a good cup run. Castleisland booked their place with a 7-2 win at home. Connie O’Connor and David Kelly both scored twice. Redmond O’Connor, Ryan Dennehy and Paul Brown all scored one each to book their place in the last four.

Ballyhar are into the hat for the semi-final thanks to Dylan Callaghan who got both his side’s goals in a 2-1 win away to Killarney Athletic whose reply came from Evan Looney.

The fourth quarter-final was the Tralee derby and it is The Park who go through after a 3-1 win over Kingdom Boys at Christy Leahy Park. Colin Walsh from the penalty spot, Liam Tobin and Mervyn Shambala were the Park scorers while John Carmody replied for Kingdom Boys.

Under 13 Cup Last 16

Killarney Celtic  A took the last place in the quarter-finals after a good win over Ballyhar.

Ryan Kelliher was on fire from the start and hit a hat-trick inside 13 minutes. Eanna Coleman, Peter O’Sullivan, Ian Darmody and Ryan O’Grady were also amongst the goals.

Draw

The draw for the quarter-finals was made following this game and Killarney Celtic A will travel to Listowel Celtic C, Killarney Celtic B are at home to Listowel Celtic A, Kingdom Boys will cross the road to take on The Park and Camp are at home to Mastergeeha.

Tom Hayes Cup quarter-finals

Inter Kenmare are the first team to go through to the Tom Hayse Under 14 Cup semi-finals after a 5-0 win over Killarney Celtic B.

Dylan O’Connor got two with Boki Nici, Daniel Casey and Tadgh Suchrie getting one each for the Inter side who welcomed Eoghan Dowling back after a long injury.

The other three quarter-finals will see Killorglin A v Listowel Celtic A, Park B v Killarney Celtic A and Kingdom Boys against Park A. They are all being played this week.

Tucker Kelly Under 16 Cup

Killarney Celtic A took the derby against Killarney Athletic to book their place in the Tucker Kelly Under 16 Cup last four.

Mark Harnett, Billy Courtney, Cathal O’Shea, Michael Potts and Conor McCarthy were the goalscorers.

Also through are The Park who just got by Mastergeeha 3-2 at Kilbrean Park. Jesse Stafford-Lacey, Stefan Akumba and Fergal Ryan got the goals for the Tralee side while Patrick Warren replied with two for Mastergeeha.

Inter Kenmare will play Castleisland and Listowel Celtic will take on Fenit in the other two quarter-finals.

League

JK Sports Under 12 Division 1:

In the JK Sports 12 Division 1, Mastergeeha and Park B both added three points to their total as they chase the sides above them.

Goals from Liam Fleming, Lee Phelan, Shane Warren, Darren Lehane, Philip O’Leary and Evan Murphy gave Mastergeeha the win over Park C.

But there was better news for Park B as they were 4-2 winners away to Fenit. This game was in the balance until the last minutes when The Park got the insurance goal. Liam McGee, Robert Morrissey, Cillian Ryan and Darragh Blennerhasset were the Park’s scorers.

Under 13 Division 2

Leaders Camp are unstoppable in this Division and now have a record of nine wins from nine. Colm Murphy hit three which and that was added to by goals from Killian Falvey, Jack Farrell, Chris O’Kane and Ruairi Begley to see the unbeaten run continue.

Foundation Sports Under 14 Premier

Killarney Celtic moved into third place with a 3-1 win over Inter Kenmare and still have a game in hand on second placed Kingdom Boys.

Josh Fleming, Ryan Kelliher and Michael Devlin were the Hoops scorers. Dillon O’Connor replied for Inter.

Division 1

With leaders Camp not playing Killarney Celtic B missed the opportunity to close the gap by three points going down 3-1 to Mastergeeha who remain in fourth.

A Gearoid Murphy free kick gave the Hoops a goal but goals from David Twomey and Dillon Murphy gave the Kilbrean boys the points.

Killarney Athletic jump ahead of neighbours Celtic B following an easy win over the other Celtic C. Alex got a consolation for Celtic C but two goals from TJ Buckley and one each from Shavez, Ryan O’Keeffe, Liam Curran and Kevin Thomson sees Athletic move to within four points of the leaders.

Killarney Plaza Under 15 Division 1

Killorglin move into joint second place following a 4-0 win over Castlemaine. Dylan O’Sullivan scored twice and Ciaran Kennedy and Johnny Kissane one each to see them sit on 24 points.

Tralee Trophy World Under 16 Plate

Killarney Celtic B played twice this week, winning one and losing one.

They were 3-1 winners over Killarney Athletic B thanks to goals from Stephen McCarthy, James McAuliffe and Cian Casey. T

hey then went down by the same score-line to Park C. Eamon Sheehy, Gary Howard and Rory Kelly were the goal getters for The Park while Ciaran Sheehan replied for Killarney Celtic B.

16 Girls Premier

Killarney Celtic’s Under 16s Girls were crowned Premier champions without kicking a ball as they received the three points from Listowel Celtic.

Girls In Green

More Kerry players pulling on the green of Ireland. This time it’s the girls we are cheering on.

Congratulations to Savanna McCarthy and her Under 19 team-mates who have qualified for the Euro finals later in the summer. Savanna has just stepped up from Under 17 level and has fitted in perfectly to the older age group.

This week another Listowel Celtic girl is in International action. Leah Henry lines out with the Irish Under 15s team who are in the UK for the Bob Doherty Tournament. They Irish girls will face Northern Ireland, Solvakia and England.
