Some of Killarney’s premier athletes have been making their mark – in no uncertain terms – at track and field events to enhance their growing reputations amongst the country’s elite.
Killarney Valley AC high jumper Jordan Lee jumped a massive indoor personal best of 1.92m at he AAI Games in Dublin and, in the process, he reached the high performance standard for the Paris Olympics.
His clubmate, sprinter Sarah Leahy, meanwhile, finished a close runner-up in the 60m final at the International De Catalunya event in Barcelona.
The golden girl of Killarney athletics won her heat in a blistering time of 7.41.

Elsewhere, Oisín O’Regan, the under 20 heptathlon bronze medal winner, competed in seven events over two days and recorded six personal bests, in the long jump, shot putt, high jump, 60m hurdles, pole vault and 1000m.
Closer to home, Killarney Valley AC is preparing to host Ireland’s newest five-mile road race.
Billed as a race for all, the Streets of Killarney 5-mile event will take place on Good Friday, March 29, at 6.30pm.
