World champion Irish dancer Caoimhe O’Halloran is getting in step in preparation for the defence of her title when she will again compete in the Irish championships which will commence in the Gleneagle-INEC Arena in Killarney next Sunday.

Caoimhe, who hails from Kilcummin, will then head to Montreal in Canada at the beginning of April to compete in the world championships where she hopes to retain her prestigious title.
Last Easter she became the first female dancer from Kerry to win a world championship title in the 50-year history of the event.

After the event was cancelled twice, due to Covid, Caoimhe eventually got an opportunity to showcase her talent and she was crowned champion in the under 15 category in Belfast last April.
To mark her achievement, her tutor and dance colleagues in the Áine Murphy Dance Academy in Gneeveguilla recently joined Caoimhe’s family and friends at a party in the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney to mark her achievements.
