Kerrymen in the awards limelight

KERRY construction tycoon Danny Tim O’Sullivan has been presented with the Freedom of London and, making it a special weeke3nd for the O’Sullivan family, his son Timothy – who now runs the family firm – was named the Kerry Association London Young Kerry Person of the Year Award.

A third Kerryman on the podium at the weekend was Professor Michael Mythen, whose mother hails from Lispole, received the Kerry Person of the Year for 2019 at the Kerry Association in London gala dinner.

Danny Tim O’Sullivan, from Kells, set up his construction company in the UK in 1961 and now employs 1,500 people, including many from Kerry.

The construction industry tycoon, the 2015 Kerry Person of the Year, is one of the most successful businessmen in the UK and he has been incredibly generous to several worthy causes, at home and abroad, down through the years.

Professor Michael Mythen is Smiths Medical Professor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at University College London and director of the UCL Discovery Laboratory at Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health. He was chosen for the award for his valuable contribution to Kerry over the years.
