Kerry women urged to think global

THE Kerry Local Enterprise Office is encouraging more women to go from local to global with their businesses by attending a joint event in Cork city with 150 female entrepreneurs expected.

Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys, has launched the national programme of events for National Women’s Enterprise Day 2018 taking place on Thursday, October 18 with 16 major entrepreneurial events planned across the country, including the event in the Clayton Hotel, Silver Springs, Cork.

The Kerry Local Enterprise Office has organised a full day event partnering with the LEO’s in Cork to cover the south west of the country and it is aimed at inspiring the next generation of female business leaders to take their local ideas and make them a global success.

Guests will include Michelle Keane of Mibeau Interiors, one of Kerry’s foremost interior designers, and the keynote speaker for the event will be Eleanor McEvoy of Dragon’s Den. The day will also include supports for growing a business internationally, facilitated panel discussion and all-important business networking.

Other speakers for the full day event include Joan Walsh of Partnership International, Rachel Sarah Murphy of Irish Film Academy and Free The Way Cleaning, Sharon McDermott of Ky Ky Kids, Ingrid De Doncker of iDDea, Estelle Power of Irish Door Systems Ltd. and Margaret Kelly of Cork Chamber.
