KERRY County Council management has commenced a detailed review of the various phases set out in the government roadmap for the easing of Covid-19 restrictions.
They will examine how they will impact on the provision of council services and amenities and the local authority’s senior management team already met this morning to discuss the situation.
The council will make announcements over the coming days pending further discussion and a detailed assessment of how services can be provided having regard to existing and future restrictions.
Officials have again appealed to people in the county to adhere to the current restrictions and not to travel over the bank holiday weekend and until there is a scheduled relaxation of the current limitations on May 18.
In accordance with the continuing restrictions on travel, public car parks at beaches and a number of other amenity areas will remain closed throughout the weekend.
There will be ongoing patrols of these areas by council personnel with a possibility of further closures if requested by gardai.
The need for adherence to the travel restrictions has been raised at central level over the past number of days and has been reiterated strongly by the Southern Region Major Emergency Management Group, of which Kerry County Council is a member.
