Many of Kerry’s breathtaking trails will be showcased in this season’s series of Tracks & Trails television series which has returned for its 10th season and it features bestselling author Cathy Kelly presenting the final episode which explores two of the county’s iconic walking routes which are among the most scenic in Ireland.
Viewers are taken along trails with Cathy to explore Wild Atlantic views of the Ventry, Slea Head and Blasket Islands to the soaring majesty of the mountains on the lakes in Killarney National Park, Torc Waterfall and Ross Castle.
Along these routes, Cathy encounters locals who give a deeper insight into the trails that she traverses, including local historian and manager of the Blasket Centre Lorcán Ó Cinnéide, Dingle Way Walks Officer Liadain Slattery, sports star Louise Galvin and Killarney traditional boatman Donal ‘Dux’ O’Donoghue.

Also involved in planning for the programme are Mayor of Kerry, Cllr John Francis Flynn Mike, Kerry County Council official Niamh O’Sullivan and Mayor of Kerry, Mike McCarthy-Larkin and Ciara O’Grady from the Kerry Tourism Industry Federation, Josephine O’Driscoll Fáilte Ireland and Sam Adeyemi Dingle Peninsula Tourism Alliance.
“Tracks & Trails has a long affinity with filming the show in Kerry and it is with great pleasure that we, as a crew and a family, were able to return to shoot this very special episode to close season 10,” said producer Clíona Sherwin.
