Kerry must lower the Banner to advance

Kerry captain Paul Murphy will lead his side into the championship

KERRY’S footballers will seek to regain the provincial crown stripped from them by Cork last season when they embark on this year’s campaign with a Munster Championship quarter-final clash with Clare.

Waterford and Limerick will meet in the other quarter-final.

If Peter Keane’s side manage to overcome the Banner challenge, they will face Munster champions Tipperary in the semi-finals while a trip to Cork awaits Waterford or Limerick.

The provincial championships will commence on the weekend of June 26/27.

Kerry will be in National League action before that with a meeting at home against Galway on May 15 before meeting Dublin at a neutral venue on May 23 and travelling to Roscommon on May 30.

The Kerry ladies will also be in action in the league in May, travelling to Meath on May 23, at home to Clare on May 30 and at home to Wexford on June 6.
