Kerry crash out in semi-final

KERRY’S incredible run in the Oscar Traynor Cup came to a shuddering halt at the penultimate stage when they fell to a sharper Clare side at Mounthawk Park, Tralee on Sunday.

Although there was nothing between the sides in the first half and it remained 0-0 at the break, Clare upped the tempo quite significantly on the resumption and eventually ran out 3-0 winners.

Gary Keane came close to scoring for Kerry but the woodwork denied him and Eoin Hayes, easily the best player on the park, went on to bag a hat-trick for Clare to see them through to the final.
