SCHOOL leavers and adults considering a return to education have been invited to an information session on further education options outside of CAO at the Kerry College of Further Education, Tralee on Wednesday, August 23 commencing at 6.30pm sharp.
The event will highlight how career goals can be achieved through Level 5 and Level 6 Post Leaving Certificate courses.
Mary Murphy, PRO for the KCFE, said the focus of the information session will be on the value of PLCs and how courses at KCFE allow school leavers to access high-point third level courses at various universities and institutes of technology throughout the country and beyond without having the points score in the traditional leaving cert.
“KCFE also offers a wide range of quality assured programmes which are ideal for those looking to upskill or retrain as they qualify learners to go directly into employment afterwards. Work experience brings learners into contact with employers and because courses are skills based, they meet employer needs,” Mary said.
Parents of school leavers are also welcome to attend the information session and it will give them an opportunity to really explore and appreciate the value of Post Leaving Certificate courses.
Courses are in high demand so it is important that those considering doing a PLC at the college this September apply online now to secure an interview for the end of August. The college prospectus can be picked up from the college office in Clash, Tralee and applications can be made online at kerryfe.ie.
