Kerry all set to welcome Tour de Munster

This year’s Tour de Munster is Kerry bound.

The big event, which will raise funds for Down Syndrome Ireland’s Munster branches, commenced in Cork this morning and will zip into and around Kerry on three of the four days of the 600km charity cycle.

Stage two, on this Friday, will see the participants pedaling their way through Ennis, Drumquin, Kildysart and Kilimer before they board the ferry to Tarbert where they are due to arrive at 2.20pm.

They will then head to Listowel and Tralee where they will stop overnight before setting off on Saturday to Stradbally, Dingle, Castlemaine and Milltown before arriving at Knockreer Lodge in Killarney National Park at approximately 3.45pm.

Then it’s on to Kenmare where they will overnight and Monday will see them heading to Glengarriff, Ballylickey, Gougane Barra, Inchigeela, Macroom and Lissard and they will finish the race back in Cork city.

This year’s Tour will see 110 cyclists take on the epic challenge of travelling 600km across the six counties of Munster on their quest to raise vital funds for their chosen cause.

Now in its 23rd year, the annual Tour de Munster charity cycle has raised over €4 million for its charity partners with the Munster branches of Down Syndrome Ireland being the primary beneficiary.

Irish cycling legend and avid supporter Seán Kelly will once again take part in the Tour de Munster this year and he will be joined by over 110 amateur cyclists on the four-day expedition.
