A KILLARNEY business has been recognised as a leading pharmacy in health literacy in Ireland, receiving the sought-after Crystal Clear mark from healthcare company MSD and the National Adult Literacy Agency.

The award has been presented to Kennelly’s Haven Pharmacy – which has outlets on New Street and at the Reeks Gateway – and it is one of 59 pharmacies nationwide recognised for their high standards in patient education.

Kennelly’s Pharmacy had to complete an audit across a number of areas to show how their pharmacy was health literacy friendly and communicating clearly with customers in accessible ways. Following assessment from NALA, it was found to qualify for inclusion.

“Haven Kennelly’s Pharmacy has demonstrated a continuous commitment to operating in a health literacy friendly way and this will have a long-term impact on the health of its customers,” said Nicola Fullam of MSD Ireland.
