Kay was very actively involved in community life

THE death occurred in Killarney this Wednesday of Kay O’Sullivan (née O’Leary) who was very well known and hugely respected in the community.

She passed away peacefully at her home, Ballydowney House, surrounded by her loving family.

Very actively involved in many aspects of Killarney life for decades, she was a very popular leader with the Girl Guides organisation and she was also a very keen golfer, serving as Lady Captain of Killarney Golf and Fishing Club in 1966.

Remembered by friends and neighbours as a very kind, gentle and pleasant lady, Kay was married for 61 years to Ivo O’Sullivan, a well-known retired dentist, and she was the loving mother of Anne, Niamh, Ivo and Michael.

She is further survived by her sister Ena, daughters-in-law Una and Noreen, sons-in-law Hugh and Conor and her much loved grandchildren Michael, Aoife, Niamh, David, Fiona, Ciara, Eoin, Fionn and Joe.

Predeceased by her brother Ted and sisters Mary, Eileen and Sheelagh., she is also survived by her sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

In accordance with Government and HSE guidelines, and in the interest of public health, a private funeral will take place in the Prince of Peace Church, Fossa, Killarney.

Kay’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on churchmedia.tv on Friday morning at 11.00am with burial afterwards in Aghadoe Cemetery, Killarney.
