TWO dynamic and energetic dancers stepped on to the winners’ podium at a gala Killarney Strictly Come Dancing spectacular last night.
Kara McDonagh and Shaun McSweeney were crowned 2018 champions at a packed INEC where patrons were treated to a wonderful night of high quality entertainment.
Weeks of rehearsals paid off handsomely for the winners who had their dance routine down to a tee and they rocked the INEC like never before.
Kara, who is from Killarney but is now living in Ballingarry, Co Limerick, is the general manager in Sean Taaffe’s Hair and Beauty Salon in Killarney and Shaun, from Knocknagree, is based just around the corner in his role as officer manager for Mayor of Killarney Cllr Niall Kelleher. Shaun is no stranger to the stage and he has already won a Lip Sync challenge in another charity fundraiser.
A total of 12 couples took to the stage in the fundraiser for the Killarney and South Kerry branch of the Irish Cancer Society and the other participants were Noreen O’Sullivan and Damien Fenton, Denise Collins and Mike Milner, Aoife McSweeney and Don Murphy, Marian Casey and Kevin Lynch, Anne Marie Nelligan and TJ O’Sullivan, Kellie O’Sullivan and Ciaran McCarthy, Niamh O’Carroll and Patrick Lynch, Norann Keane and Dermot O’Meara, Olivia Christie and Danny Brosnan, Hazel Murphy and Kieran Fleming and Finnolla Halpin and Leszek Brzozka.
The adjudicators for the big occasion were Deputy Michael Healy-Rae, Mary MacMonagle of the Great Southern Hotel Killarney, photographer Michelle Cooper-Galvin and fashion designer and stylist Danny Leane.
