The family of a well-known Killarney man, who passed away while travelling abroad, has organised a fundraising campaign for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust which is an organisation that provided great help to them at the time.
JJ O’Donoghue died on December 2021 and the Trust helped to bring him home to his grieving family.
JJ’s daughters, Pam Treacy, Grace Moran and Rachel O’Donoghue, have been campaigning for the past 100 days by walking to raise funds for the Kevin Bell Trust and close on 100 people turned out for the last day of her campaign on Saturday to enjoy a walk along the old Kenmare Road.

The event commenced from Torc car park Killarney at 10.30am and arrived in Kenmare at 1:30pm and the sisters also remembered their brother, Podge, who passed away very recently.
“Colin Bell and all at the Kevin Bell Trust were an incredible support in the swift repatriation of bringing JJ home, We are forever indebted for their kindness, wisdom and gentle ways,” said Pam.
They embarked on the first of their 100 days of walking on January 5 and it culminated with Saturday’s event.
“We, as a family, are exceptionally grateful to all our family and friends who have supported us to support future families who find themselves in such heartbreaking and unbearable circumstances,” the O’Donoghue family said.
