
Killarney screen star Jessie Buckley has won a coveted Irish Film and Television Academy (IFTA) award for her brilliant portrayal of Leda in smash hit drama The Lost Daughter.
The gifted actress has been honoured for her portrayal of Leda in hit drama The Lost Daughter.
Jessie (32) plays the younger version of Leda with Oscar winner Olivia Coleman playing the more mature version in a film that explores the character’s struggles to adjust to becoming a mother.

Leda is alone on a seaside vacation when she becomes consumed with a young mother and daughter as she watches them on the beach. An impulsive act shocks her into the strange and ominous world of her own mind, where she is forced to face the unconventional choices she made as a young mother – played by Jessie – and their consequences.
It has also earned the Killarney actress an Oscar nomination in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category.
The virtual IFTA Awards 2022 was a star-studded event and the line-up included Colin Farrell, Chris Pine, Michael Moore, Roma Downey and Fionnula Flanagan.
The wonderfully talented daughter of Tim Buckley and Marina Cassidy, was always destined for stardom and in The Lost Daughter she is the standout star alongside Olivia Coleman, Dakota Johnson, Ed Harris and Paul Mescall.
