A Killarney athlete has been crowned Irish indoor 400m champion following a power-packed run at the national championships in Athlone.
Jason O’Reilly registered a lightning fast time of 50.64 to take gold at under 18 level and his performance brought great pride to his club Killarney Valley AC.
Running in lane five, Jason finished ahead of Cormac Crotty of Annalee AC and Antoine Roquette who is unattached to clinch the title.
Another club member, Tadgh Galvin, produced a personal best run of 51.94 to take seventh place overall in the under 19 400m and missed out on the final by just one slot.
Another personal best was registered by Aoife O’Shea who finished the under 15 1000m walk in a time of 6.19.
