
The Dr Crokes GAA Club Golf Society outing at Waterville Golf Club was in memory of the late Denis Coffey, a former member, player, officer and supporter who was a loyal dedicated clubman.
Denis, a partner in the long-established accountancy firm O’Brien Coffey, passed away in 2011, suddenly and at the age of 61, while playing golf with friends.
An accomplished golfer and footballer, he played with Crokes and East Kerry and in the Sigerson Cup with UCC and he was Killarney Golf and Fishing tournament director when the club hosted the prestigious Irish Open for the first time in 1991
The winner of the memorial shootout at Waterville was James Jones and he received his prize from Catherine and Noreen Coffey in the company of Dr Crokes Golf Society President Liam Hartnett and Captain Joey Sheehan.

Meanwhile, the winner of the latest Dr Crokes outing to Dooks was Johnny O’Connor (24) with a score of 38 followed by David Moloney (7) 37 and John O’Leary (21) 36.
In fourth place was Colm O’Shea (11) 35 and in fifth was Michael Howard (19) 34.
