
JAMES Jones was in the spotlight when he powered his way to victory out on the course on President’s Day at the Beaufort Golf Club last Sunday.

He was in devastating form to clinch President Pat Quille’s prize, despite stiff competition from several other competitors.
It was a good day too for Laura Furlong who was second and also won the longest drive while Edwin Spence, Denis O’Connor and Michael Barry were third, fourth and fifth respectively.
The prize for the front nine went to Padraig Coffey, Joan O’Sullivan was best on the back nine, Johnny Doolan scooped the past presidents’ prize and Sally Cooper was nearest the pin.
