EAST Kerry senior champions Killarney Legion will have more reason to celebrate at their annual social and awards event this Friday night as they reflect on their first O’Donoghue Cup success for an astonishing 43 years.
It was a long time coming but they will mark their spirited victory over town rivals Dr Crokes in the glamour final as well as celebrating the various successes of other club members.
The industrious Jack O’Neill will be crowned Senior Player of the Year on the night following a string of solid performances throughout the district board championship and the county league. He will be presented with the John O’Grady Cup.
Other recipients on the night will be:
Minor Ladies Player of the Year: Keri-Ann Hanranhan.
Senior Ladies (Larry Horgan Shield): Abbie Cronin.
Minor Men (Jim Trant Shield): Tadhg Doolan.
Junior Men (Jackie Lyne Cup): Sean McCarthy.
Special Awards: Marie Leahy and Carolann Fogarty.
Hall of Fame (Vincent Doyle Cup): Pat Healy.
Club Person of the Year (Cooper Cup): Donal O’Leary.
