‘It has left everybody very upset and numb with shock’

Mayor of Killarney Cllr Brendan Cronin

The Mayor of Killarney has led the tributes to the popular local woman who lost her life in a devastating road traffic accident near Glenflesk village on Thursday afternoon.

Mary B Walsh died when her car was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the main Killarney to Glenflesk road, near St Agatha’s Church, shortly before 4 o’clock.

Married with one son, she lived at Flintfield, Faha and was a neighbour of Mayor Brendan Cronin who said Mary, her husband Seán and son Jack, are a hugely popular family very highly regarded in the close-knit parish of Listry.

“This was such a terrible tragedy at the start of the year and it has left everybody very upset and numb with shock,” Mayor Cronin said.

“The thoughts and prayers of everybody are with the Walsh family. Our hearts go out to them and they are very much in our thoughts,” he said.
