A KILLARNEY adventurer is organising a dramatic Run in the Dark event on the beach at Inch to raise funds for the Mark Pollock Trust.

Mike O’Shea – one of Kerry’s great action heroes – has planned the novel 5k or 10k run on this Wednesday, November 13, commencing at 8.00pm. Booking is required online at www.runinthedark.org.

As darkness sweeps around the globe, 25,000 people in 50 locations worldwide – from Sydney to San Francisco and including Inch – will get up from their armchairs, slip on their red flashing armbands and pull on their running shoes to compete this Wednesday.

They will light up the night as they hit the road to Run in the Dark and it is the Mark Pollock Trust’s principal fundraising event.

The aim is to inspire people to build resilience and collaborate with others so that, together, they achieve more than they thought possible. It will support Mark to deal with the ongoing physical, psychological and financial impact of his catastrophic spinal cord injury, while also allowing him to pursue his personal mission to cure paralysis in our lifetime.
