KERRY has put on its best face this weekend for a group of influential overseas travel operators who are in Ireland to attend Meitheal – the country’s largest travel trade fair.

And as everybody involved in the tourism industry in the county knows only too well, if you’ve got it, flaunt it.

Kerry’s many attractions feature extensively in a new Fáilte Ireland series of exciting and compelling tours to highlight the best Ireland has to offer.

The travel trade will commence in the RDS, Dublin on Tuesday with over 280 of the world’s top travel and tourism buyers from 16 overseas markets in attendance.

They will engage directly with 500 Irish tourism businesses and the tours will provide the visitors with a direct experience of what an Irish holiday can offer their customers.

The advance tours include a tailored trip along the Wild Atlantic Way, a cycling and walking trip to Dingle and of course, a trip this weekend to see Fungi as well an a tour to the Blasket Centre.

Fáilte Ireland official, Ciara Sugrue, stressed the importance of ensuring the agents get the full picture while here for the trade fair.

“Ensuring these key buyers leave with a positive experience is pivotal in gaining more visitors next year.

“A visit to Kerry provides a valuable opportunity to show the best of Ireland. Our appeal remains strong and trips like these ensure that we can grow our appeal and bring more visitors to this region in the years to come,” she said.
