A SUPER goal allied to a masterful overall performance at midfield earned skilful young starlet Alex Hennigan the coveted player of the tournament award in the under 10 Killarney Athletic FC seven-a-side soccer tournament at Woodlawn.
Alex set the net bulging with a terrific first half free kick which was the only goal of the game and it gave Flesk Flyers victory over a very spirited Fleming’s Taxis.
There was great excitement as both the under 10 and under 12 competitions were fought out in closely contested encounters.
In the under 12 decider, Fleming’s Taxis were also just out of luck when they fell to Sean Taaffe Hair and Beauty on a 2-1 scoreline.
The under 12 player of the tournament was Gearóid Bassett who played a storing role in his side’s incredible journey to the final which came about following a string of impressive high-scoring victories.
