THEY came in search of treasure and they were determined not to leave without it.

Excited children descended on Killarney on Saturday to participate in a fun-filled and engaging treasure hunt and adventure race lined up as part of the second annual Killarney Mountain Festival.

Armed with sheets of clues, they swarmed the national park in search of treasure and, in the process, they learned all about nature, the ecology of the park and its history and traditions.

Fun for all the family is very much the theme of this year’s festival with playground attractions and amusements located at the base camp on Beech Road to keep them enthused.
