A prominent Killarney hotelier has been honoured for the outstanding contribution he has made to the golf industry.
Pádraig Treacy of the five-star Killarney Park Hotel received the Jerry Donworth Award at the annual Ireland Golf Tour Operators’ Association (IGTOA) Conference and Golf Awards.
The adjudicators said the Killarney Park and Pádraig Treacy have been synonymous with hospitality and golf tourism and he has made a huge contribution over the years.
The black tie ceremony was held in the Slieve Donard Hotel and Royal County Down Golf Club in Newcastle, Co Down.
The event is always a highlight on the Irish golf industry calendar as it brings hotel managers, golf club managers and service providers together with IGTOA members, after a long season, in a relaxed environment to plan for the next year.
At the gala event, Tralee Golf Club was named links course of the year, the K Club was chosen as the top parkland course and Druid’s Glen was named golf resort of the year.
IGTOA members and partners include the tour operators, resorts, courses, venues, accommodation providers, restaurants, transport companies, guides, driver guides and caddies who embody the wider Irish golf tourism industry.
