
Senior management in the Health Service Executive have been urged to improve medical care for people in and around Killarney and east, mid and south Kerry by utilising the x-ray, ultrasound and MRI service now available at the new Alliance Medical Diagnostics facility at the Reeks Gateway building in Killarney.
Cllr Brendan Cronin said there is an onus of responsibility on the HSE to negotiate and make arrangements with Alliance Medical so that the general public can benefit from these very important services locally.
“It will provide improved patient care without long journeys and waiting times.,” he said.
Cllr Cronin added: “The availability of these important diagnostic medical services based in Killarney is of major importance and the HSE need to play their part to ensure that this facility is utilised for the benefit of the local population”.
Alliance Medical Diagnostic Imaging said the new centre provides world class imaging such as MRI, x-ray, DXA and ultrasound and it is a hub of cutting-edge imaging technology, offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic services to cater to the diverse healthcare needs of the local community.
