THE family and friends of a hugely popular young dad, who passed away in tragic circumstances on August 28 last, are continuing a campaign to raise funds, in his memory, for Pieta House.
Sandra Broderick, from Currow, has appealed to all those who knew and loved her late husband, John, to help people who struggle to deal with depression in their everyday lives. She had already set up an online fundraising page to generate donations for the charity.
Sandra and John’s family and friends are now planning to host a coffee morning in the Killarney Avenue Hotel on Saturday, October 27 to generate even more funds for the cause.

Admission is by a donation at the door, from 9am to 12pm, and raffle tickets will be on sale for top prizes including afternoon tea for four people at the Fota Resort Cork, an overnight stay for two with dinner and breakfast in Killarney Avenue Hotel and afternoon tea in the Park Hotel and Sheen Falls.
There will also be Nathan Carter tickets in the Gleneagle Hotel on New Year’s Eve, Munster rugby tickets and over 100 fantastic vouchers and hampers.
The Oh Happy Day Choir will give a recital on the morning along with guest appearances, face painting, a puppet show, magic and much more.
“Everyone is welcome to help support this worthy event in memory of the most amazing person in our lives,” said Sandra.
Pieta House provides a free, therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm.
