Hat-trick of awards for Jimmy Brien’s Bar

Several tourism industry professionals from Killarney figured among the prizewinners at a gala Connect Kerry Hospitality Awards ceremony held in Ballyroe Heights Hotel in Tralee last night.

Many of the industry’s most talented and high achieving personnel were on the victory podium as they celebrated a great year during which they stood out in terms of the service provided to customers.

Jimmy Brien’s Bar in Killarney made it a memorable treble as they added the Kerry Bar of the Year title to the national outstanding customer service accolade won in the Irish Pub Awards and the prize for the best floral display in this year’s Killarney Looking Good Awards.

Other Killarney winners at last night’s Connect Kerry Awards included Brendan Harnett of the Aghadoe Heights Hotel (concierge of the year); Killarney Park Hotel (hotel of the year); Philomena Lee of the Gleneagle Hotel (restaurant server of the year); JM Reidy’s (best tourist bar); Muckross Park Hotel (best luxury hotel and best fine dining); Kitty Ó Sé’s (restaurant of the year) and Alison O’Sullivan, Killarney Park Hotel (Rising Star Award).

Margaret Kissane of Connect Kerry said with the awards returning after a Covid hiatus, everyone was excited to get the show going and a great night was had by all.

Josie O’Callaghan of the Listowel Arms Hotel received the Lifetime Achievement Award while TJ O’Connor of the Culinary Department in MTU was honoured with the Hall of Fame award.
