IT was a case of the magnificent seven when MEK Galaxy’s under 13 boys clashed with Killorglin A in the premier division with MEK hitting their opponents for seven goals without reply.
The Galaxy boys showed some cosmic skills to win big against their near neighbours with some great performances on the day but the man-of-the-match accolade must go to the outstanding Donnacha Prendeville who controlled the game.
Socr4ers for MEK on the day were Danny Murphy (2), Cillian O’Donoghue (2), Killian Fitzgerald (2) and Tadhg Clifford.
In the under 13 division 2, meanwhile, Killorglin got revenge with a 3-2 victory over MEK who missed some glorious opportunities to do the double over Killorglin. With a bit more luck, perhaps, they could have garnered all three point but they were left empty handed. David O’Shea hit a brace of goals for Galaxy.
In the under 15 division one league, MEK had a hard-fought 3-2 win against Camp thanks to goals from Jamie Vousdon, Ryan Carey and David Butler.
The MEK under 16 girls registered a brilliant 4-2 win against Dingle Bay Rovers 2 at Fossa with a hat-trick from Izzy McGrath and another from Naoise O’Donoghue securing victory.
In the under 12 girls’ division 1 MEK Galaxy went on a scoring bonanza to beat Listowel B 8-4 with four goals from the in-form Izzy Lyons and two each from Fleur O’Neil and Megan Quigg.
