Great honour for Declan to lead his country

Endurance man Declan O’Donoghue

A SUPER fit Killarney athlete will have the honour of captaining his country in the Duathlon European Championships in Spain next weekend.

Declan O’Donoghue of Killarney Triathlon Club skippers the team that will compete in the running and cycling categories in the 40-44 age group.

Declan will captain the 12-strong Ireland team in spain

A teacher in St Brendan’s College, Killarney, Declan is honoured to have been chosen to lead his country into the games and he is hoping the 12-strong team, himself included, will give a good account of themselves out on the course.

Declan has previously competed in the World Triathlon Championships in Rotterdam, Lisbon, Geneva and Chicago.
