Great day out for kids at Kerry game

The GAA club’s under 10s and under 12s had a fantastic day out at the Kerry v Monaghan game in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney, on Sunday last. Special thanks to the mentors who organised the day out and to the parents that travelled with us, thus ensuring adequate supervision.

Last but not least, míle buíochas to our bus driver, Dominic, who brought everybody home safely.

Final: Congratulations to the Milltown-Castlemaine under 21 team who defeated Glenbeigh-Glencar-Cromane in the Mid Kerry semi-final on Saturday morning last. They will play Beaufort in the final.

Lotto: The GAA club had its first match three lotto winner on Friday night last. Congratulations to Patie Sugrue, Lissivane East. Enjoy your winnings Patie. The drawn numbers were 3, 12, and 15 with 24 being the bonus number. Our next lotto draw is on Friday, February 10 in O’Shea’s Bar, Milltown and the jackpot is now €13,400.

A match three will give you a win or share in €300. The money from the lotto fundraiser has recently been used to purchase new training materials and footballs for all our under age teams who are now well established in their indoor training. Thank you to each and every person who continues to support the lotto.

Membership: Club registration is now due. Under six members are free and the juvenile/student and OAP rate is €30. An adult is €50, couples are €80 and family membership is €100. Membership entitles you to free entry to all the club’s home county league games worth €30, on production of the membership card. as well as entry to the Munster Final ticket draw and that all important All-Ireland ticket draw in September. Membership also entitles all those aged 18 and over to vote at the AGM.

Registered: All officers, players and mentors need to be registered for insurance purposes with Croke Park. Our registrar John Murphy will be delighted to facilitate anybody who wishes to join our club. Membership must be paid before March 31. Registrations after this date will not be issued with a registration card something that is necessary to gain your free entry to home county league games.

Under 6: Indoor fun football continues on Saturdaysfrom 11.30am to 12.30pm in the Nagle Rice Community Centre. Please bring €2 to cover the cost of the hall. If your child has not already registered with the club, they may do so on Saturday morning.

Football: Fun Football continues on Sundays in the Nagle Rice Community Hall, Milltown. Under 8s at 5pm, under 10s at 6pm and under 14s at 7pm. Under 16s and minors are on Tuesdays at 7pm. Please remember your €2 to cover hall rental and don’t forget your gum shield.

Guidelines: Please note that under age players are not permitted inside the dressing rooms prior to or after a senior game or inside the surrounding fence wire when a senior game is ongoing. This is to protect all parties involved. We ask parents and guardians to continually remind their children of this rule which will be strictly enforced. We appreciate your ongoing support and cooperation.

Colours: Can all underage team managers, trainers and coaches please ensure that all players representing Milltown /Castlemaine are dressed in club colours. This is to avoid any inconvenience prior to games.
