Killarney Credit Union loaned €23.7 million to 2,735 members, fuelling the economies of south and east Kerry in the last financial year.

A total of 488 new members joined Killarney Credit Union, with 817 members opening current accounts and the loan interest rates offered are among the most competitive in Kerry.

The details are contained in Killarney Credit Union’s first social impact report showcasing the commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities it serves.

Credit Unions, as a member- owned not-for-profit organisation, pride themselves on being different and need to highlight and promote what it is that makes them different.

They are uniquely positioned to improve their social impact by prioritising the wellbeing of members and the communities they serve.

The launch of the report, which took place at the Beech Road offices, brought together many of the clubs and organisations that received sponsorship amounting to €35,000 last year.
