Graveyard talk a great success

Kilcummin Historical Group would like to sincerely thank all who attended and contributed in making the talk and exhibition in Old Kilcummin Graveyard last Saturday such a great success.

John Tierney, archaeologist, has expressed an interest in giving a talk in Kilcummin in the Autumn on the very old and unusual tombstones in Old Kilcummin Graveyard. Details to follow.

Group: The parent and toddler group meets on Mondays from 10.30am to12.30pm in the Recreational Hall and all are welcome. For further information contact Maureen on 087-2883479.

Game: Kilcummin are away to Spa in their final County League game of the year on next Sunday at 1.30pm.

Lotto: There was no winner of the Kilcummin GAA Club lotto jackpot on Sunday. The numbers drawn were 11, 14, 15 and 20. Consolation prize winners were €100: Mary Beth Hourigan; €60 each: Patrick O’Sullivan and Pat O’Donoghue, c/o Tom Sullivan and €30 each: Sadie Murphy, Knocklebede and P Cahill, Knocklebede. The jackpot is now €6,750.

Soccer: In preparation for the new season Mastergeeha FC seniors’ training continues on Wednesday and Friday at 7.15pm at Kilbrean Park. Training will start for schoolboys and schoolgirls teams shortly. For further information contact Tadhg Brosnan on 086-4098405.
Volunteers:  Anybody interested in volunteering, coaching, managing or helping out with the Mastergeeha FC club or a team for the forthcoming season please contact 086-4098405.

Jackpot: There was no Mastergeeha FC lotto jackpot winner at the weekend when the numbers drawn were 2, 13, 20 and 22. Consolation prizes were won by David Cronin, Knockinane West, Kilcummin (100); Halina Doynikowska, High Street, Killarney (€60); Tim Foley, Barleymount, Killarney (€30); Nuala Dwyer, Anablaha, Kilcummin (€30) and Tim Teahan, Buddihans, Kilcummin (€30). The jackpot is now €9,600.

AGM: The Kilcummin Comhaltas annual general meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 5 at 8pm in the Recreational Hall. All welcome.

Vacancies: A number of vacancies are available in the Kilcummin Rural Development community employment scheme. They include community development worker, retail assistant, and kitchen assistant.
