Graduates embark on exciting careers

SEVERAL Kerry students have graduated from Mary Immaculate College in Limerick in recent days and they now embark on what they hope will be exciting, rewarding and challenging careers, mainly in the education sector.

Over 2,000 students attended the graduation ceremonies which took place over three days and they represented 30 counties, seven countries and four continents.

Mary Immaculate, founded in 1898, is a Catholic College of Education and the Liberal Arts, offering a wide range of programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and almost 5,000 students are currently engaged in studies there.

It has two academic faculties, the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education, and each one consists of a range of academic departments.

Mary Immaculate is recognised and appreciated for its excellence in teaching, learning and research and its essential contribution to the continuum of academic provision in effective and productive collaboration with its partners in the higher education sector.

The programmes of study are among the most highly sought after in the country and the college has recently established the Office of International Affairs, which is charged with enhancing the college’s international identity and profile and attracting international students.
