Girls rough it up in the muck for fun

Some of the St Brigid’s Secondary School transition year students enjoying the day of adventure

IT’S certainly not all work and no play for the transition year students from St Brigid’s Secondary School in Killarney who enjoyed their first outdoor trip of the school year on their first day back.

They took off for a day of fun and games at the Eclipse Outdoor Adventure Centre outside Kenmare, leaving Killarney in three buses, all wearing face masks, to ensure they travelled as safely as possible.

They had a rough and tough day in the muck, scaling over obstacles and tackling the elements in kayaks as well as orienteering and they were just a few of the activities undertaken.

The weather was ideal and this was an energetic fun start to what will be a lively and educational transition year which will focus essentially on life skills and opportunities.
