The festival’s Schools Outreach Programme began over 10 years ago and the project has since become one of the most popular elements of The Gathering Festival. Every year a group of musicians visits a selection of national schools in the Killarney area, over four days, and pupils and teachers are treated to a feast of music and dance giving them a very unique insight into their culture and heritage in a fun and interactive way.
The Gathering Traditional Festival is a lively weekend of traditional music and dance which celebrates the rich culture and diversity of traditional Irish music and dance and it is the perfect weekend for hardcore trad fans and also for anyone who enjoys traditional music and culture or just having the craic.
