THE 2015 Gary Scollard Under 16 tournament and the Todd Nolan tournament have been launched by Munster Council Chairman, Robert Frost.

They will go ahead on this Saturday, at separate venues, commencing at 12.15pm.

The Gary Scollard tournament is a straight final between Kerry and Limerick and it will be played at Connolly Park, Tralee.

It commemorates the former Kerry and Austin Stacks dual player, Gary Scollard, who won an All-Ireland Senior B hurling medal in 1976 with Kerry, an All-Ireland senior club football medal (1977) and three county senior football championship medals (1973, 1975, 1976) with Austin Stacks.

He also played in three losing county senior hurling finals (1968, 1969, 1974).

The Todd Nolan tournament involves the Kerry minor hurlers and Under 17 development squads from Cork, Limerick and Clare and it will be played at the John Mitchels complex.

The semi-final pairings are Kerry v Limerick and Cork v Clare.

This tournament, which commenced in 2008, commemorates the former Kerry and Crotta O’Neill’s hurler, Todd Nolan who also played Railway Cup hurling with Munster in 1969 and won a county senior championship medal in 1968.

Meanwhile, at the official launch of the 2015 senior football and hurling leagues, in the Manor West Hotel, Tralee on this Thursday evening, a number of sponsorship cheques will be presented to clubs that excelled in the various divisions last season.

Those to benefit will be Division 2: Killarney Legion; Division 3: Templenoe; Division 4: Na Gaeil and Division 5: Dr Crokes B

Presentations will also be made to All-Ireland Intermediate Football Champions Ardfert; All-Ireland Junior Football Champions Brosna and All Ireland-Post Primary Schools Hogan Cup winners Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne.
