IT will be a case of black or white instead of blue as Gardai in Killarney will gather in force for a charity coffee morning to raise funds for a very worthy local cause.

The event is planned for JM Reidy’s on Main Street this Tuesday from 10.00am to 12 noon and all proceeds raised on the day will go to the Killarney and South Kerry branch of the Irish Cancer Society.

Garda Mike Milner will be one of the participants in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing spectacular, which will be held in the INEC next Friday night, and he and his colleagues have opted to dig deep and organise the coffee morning to help raise extra funds for the cause.

Mike said he is partaking in this year’s Strictly in memory of his cousin James who passed away recently from cancer at a young age.

No stranger to the dance stage, Mike partnered Kelly Ann McSweeney to win the Dr Crokes GAA Club Strictly event a few short years ago while another member of An Garda Siochana in Killarney, Aoife Dolan, is also a former Strictly champion.
