Gardai investigate two incidents on Port Road

Gardai in Killarney have appealed for information from anyone who may have seen a person or persons acting suspiciously on Port Road, Killarney in the early hours of Monday, May 1.

It is understood that a male in his 30s was seriously assaulted and had his wallet and mobile phone stolen in an incident that occurred close to the Michael Moynihan Roundabout in Ballydowney.

The incident occurred between the hours of 2.00am and 4.00am and any witnesses, or people who may have noticed suspicious behaviour around that time, is asked to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064-6631222.

In a separate incident, a burglary occurred between the May 2 and May 3 in the vicinity of Port Road, Killarney.

A small sum of money was stolen from the register at Deenagh Lodge on the Port Road where the Kerry branch of the Down Syndrome Ireland charity operates a coffee shop.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have seen something suspicious or may have information in relation to same to get in touch.
