A CYCLIST has died following a collision in Killarney this evening.
The woman, who was aged in her 40s and from Killarney, is understood to have been cycling with three others towards Cleeny Roundabout when she was involved in a collision with a tractor, towing agricultural equipment.
The accident happened on the by-pass road shortly after 7.00pm.
Emergency services rushed to the area – close to the turn off to Kilcummin – but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor was not injured.
The road is closed to traffic and local diversions are in place while Garda forensic collision investigators examine the scene. Coroner Terence Casey has been notified.
