A KERRY football legend has inspired a more recent green and gold star to design a new range of sportswear in his honour.

Paul Galvin, the former wing forward turned fashion designer, has created a new jersey range named after and dedicated to the late great Joe Keohane, a five-time All-Ireland winner with Kerry who was one of the true giants of the game.
The slick Keohane Athletic Club jersey, which is available in different styles and colours and is in big demand at the Kerry GAA store, is a fitting tribute to the former full back from the John Mitchels club in Tralee who played with Kerry for 13 seasons, from 1936 to 1948.

He later became a selector and manager with the Kerry senior team and he was posthumously named in the full-back position on the Football Team of the Millennium in 1999. He passed away in 1988 at the age of 69.
One of the first people to purchase the new jersey at the Kerry GAA Store in Killarney Outlet Centre was Joe Keohane’s son, Karl, who said the family was “very humbled” that Paul Galvin designed a jersey in memory of his father.
