
Gaelscoil Faithleann in Killarney has been awarded a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) grant worth €9,812.04
Minister for Education and Kerry TD Norma Foley today announced that 19 Kerry schools have been awarded more than €160,000 in total.
The overall budget for the grants has been more than trebled from €1.5 million to €4.7 million due to phenomenal demand from schools.

The successful projects include a focus on coding, robotics, growing plants without soil, modules on AI, interpreting weather patterns, film and animation, student STEM Clubs and community-based science fairs.
Minister Foley welcomed the fact that 19 Kerry schools had successfully qualified for STEM grants of up to €10,000 each.
“We have had an overwhelming response to the grant scheme, with in excess of 2,700 applications. It is truly inspiring to see the dedication and passion exhibited by schools across the country in their pursuit of excellence in STEM education,” she said.
Other Kerry schools to benefit include Firies National School (€10,000); Kilgobnet National School (€10,000); Flemby National School (€10,000); Scoil Naomh Cárthach, Ballyfinane (€3,089.87); Castledrum National School (€9,678.15); Kiltallagh National School (€4,700) and Scoil Réalta na Maidine (€10,000).
