
A number of festive season initiatives in Kerry are to benefit from funding to support Christmas markets and Christmas lights.
The grants have been announced by Minister of State for Planning and Local Government, Alan Dillon, and the intention is to generate footfall and activity to support these smaller town centres, and to help revitalise the local economy in the run up to Christmas 2024.
The grants have been enthusiastically welcomed by Cllr Marie Moloney, Cllr Niall Kelleher, Mayor of Killarney Cllr Maura Healy-Rae and Cllr MichaelCahill.

A total of €50,000 was allocated to 19 Kerry and the projects to benefit are:
Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce: €5,000
Kilcummin Looking Good: €3,000
Barraduff Tidy Village Group: €1,500
Castleisland Chamber Alliance: €4,000
Dingle Business Chamber: €4,000
Milltown Town Team: €3,000
Farranfore Development Association: €1,000
Kenmare Chamber of Commerce and Tourism: €4,000
Killorglin Chamber Alliance: €4,000
Cahersiveen Alliance/ACARD/Cahersiveen Traders: €4,000
Christmas in Kilgarvan: €1,000
Listowel Business and Community Alliance: €4,000
St John’s Theatre & Arts Centre, Listowel: €1,500
Ballybunion Community Forum (Christmas lights): €1,500
Ballylongford Christmas Lights C/o Ballylongford Tidy Towns: €1,000
Kilflynn Christmas Tree: €500
Lixnaw Christmas lights: €500
Tralee Chamber Alliance: €5,000
